Image is the focus of the work and research that Leonardo Scarselli has been doing for decades now and which finds full expression in this modern and unconventional shop, based on the barycentric position of the containment system, which is the beating heart of the space: exhibition and storage for sizes in a single element. Converted from an old machine shop into the warehouse of a knitting workshop, the place keeps it’s architectural form, Spartanly post-industrial. Thus, the weathered quartz flooring has become a strength, thanks to a careful restoration that leaves the visual aspect, enhancing its patinas due to various uses, through a wax-based treatment. The custom-made furniture are designed by the studio, with a detail aimed at the contemporaryisation of industrial furniture, ‘cleaned up’ of unnecessary details, they are made entirely of raw sheet metal with a calamine effect.
